As much as we love the actors of Bollywood for donning various characters on screen and amusing us, we also stay keen to know what’s happening in the personal lives of our favorite celebs. Especially their love lives. After all, the biggest question today is when Salman is getting married or will Deepveer (Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh) tie a knot this year.
Amongst all the love affairs that were rumored and thrashed some stories stand true. There have been many love stories which gave up hope yet never reached a happy ending. Some Bollywood couples have dated and got engaged yet somehow, they failed to get married and broke off.
We have heard a lot many stories about them but here are some of the most controversial ones.
1. Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon
Who doesn’t know about this one, it was one of the most popular affairs. Raveena and Akshay had a sizzling chemistry onscreen and off-screen as well. If it’s hard to recall try watching “Tip Tip Barsa Pani”. They were once madly in love and got engaged. However, Raveena broke up with Akshay as he was rumored to have affairs with other female actors as well.
2. Salman Khan and Sangeeta Bijlani
Way before Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were a thing, Salman was serious dating Sangeeta Bijlani. If we believe the biography of Salman – Being Salman, both the actors got engaged and even finalized their wedding dates. However, that never happened as Sangeeta claimed that Salman cheated on her.
3. Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor
Almost all the people who follow Bollywood are aware of Kapoor-Bachchan broke off. Karishma and Abhishek got serious about each other while working together and after dating each other for 5 years they got engaged on October 11, 2002. A few months later, due to some family and personal issues, both the actors called off their wedding. Nobody knows what exactly happened.
4. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Priyanka Bhatia
Neil Nitin Mukesh got married in 2017, however, the actor dated Priyanka Bhatia for 2 good years. Neil and Priyanka were engaged and all set to get married. Later Neil called off the wedding and never spoke a word about it in media. Guess, he wanted to keep it personal.
5. Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Shetty even talked about this relationship in Big Brother. It was one of the most brutal and heartbreaking break-ups that Hindi cinema industry has witnessed. The couple shared a sizzling chemistry on screen, Shilpa was head over heels in love with Akshay and wanted to marry him. However, Akshay messed things up real bad when Shilpa got to know that he is dating her best friend Twinkle Khanna.
Heartbreaks or not, engagements or marriages, Bollywood keeps astonishing us every now and then. These Bollywood couples may have broken up but there is always hope for love, isn’t it?
